David Tayloe Read

David Tayloe Read, Jr., age 73, of Stone Mountain, GA, died June 28, 2005. He was a retired Captain in the United States Air Force, a West Lumber Company retiree, and outgoing President of Egress, a widows and widowers support group in DeKalb County. He also served on the Board of Directors of Life Enrichment Services of DeKalb County. Dave is survived by his children, Kenny Lee Chaffins of Lilburn, GA, Rita Chaffins Hammock of Franklin, TN, and David Tayloe Read, III, of Alderley Edge, England; nine grandchildren, and one great grandson. He was born in Norfolk, VA, on October 10, 1931, was a graduate of East Carolina University, and was the husband of the late Anne Newsome Read. Dave was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Stone Mountain. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2005, at the church. The family will receive visitors at a reception following the service.
