Deen K. Jones, 84, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31 at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Downing and the Rev. Jerry McCurdy will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30. Born in East Atlanta, Deen graduated from Tech High and was employed by Dixie Bearings for 42 years. Son of the late Mattie Banks George and William Foster Jones, he was preceded in death by his sister and four brothers. Survivors include his wife of 38 years Elizabeth Alden Jones of Stone Mountain and his children Richard Jones of Marathon, FL; Deborah Smith (Lewis) of Macon, GA; and Peggy Hall (Kirk) of Indialantic, FL; stepchildren Diane Woodall (Randy ) of Cumming; Karlene Reith (John) of Stockbridge; Fred Brendel of Atlanta; David Brendel of Athens; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. There will be a private burial at Sylvester Cemetery in east Atlanta following the Service, A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, Decatur
