Denis Raymond Merrill, born on April 29, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on June 20, 2024, at the age of 78 in Snellville, Georgia. A man of deep compassion and loyalty, Denis dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his business.
Denis proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968, as part of the 199th Infantry Brigade, the "Red Catchers." His time in the service was marked by a commitment to his fellow soldiers and to the nation.
Following his military service, Denis channeled his leadership skills into entrepreneurship, establishing Certified Logistics & Support Services in 1976. Under his guidance, the company thrived, reflecting his dedication and meticulous attention to detail.
Beyond his professional and military life, Denis was a loving husband, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, often watching golf with his wife, Nancy. His presence brought warmth and joy to every gathering.
Denis is survived by his wife, Nancy Acree Merrill; his brother, Nick Dilisio and his sister, Anastacia Dilisio. He was preceded in death by his sister Leslie Curlee, and his parents, Vivian and Joseph Dilisio.
Visitation for local family and friends will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons on June 26, 2024 from 6-8 pm in Decatur, Georgia. A private graveside service to honor Denis' life will be held at Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village, Ohio. A.S. Turner & Sons of Decatur, Georgia, is assisting the family during this time.
Denis Raymond Merrill's legacy of love, loyalty, and dedication will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
