Dexter Lamar Collier

September 5, 1962 — January 1, 2021

Dexter Lamar Collier, the beloved first born son of Raymond and Vinnie Collier, came into this world one Sunday morning September 19, 1962, and God called him home on Friday, January 1, 2021.

He attended Beecher Hills Elementary School and was one of the first black students to attend. Dexter graduated from South West High School then went on to work for Sylvania Lighting and Company. He went on to work for Medline, where he worked until the time he passed. He was a very organized and faithful worker. Dexter was not ever late for work.

Dexter was very active in his teenage years in the youth program in the World-Wide Church of God. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and was very successful in athletics. He played softball baseball and was very known and recognized for his basketball and track talents., but he highly favored basketball. Until recently, his love for basketball had him in the gym and on the courts working on his dunk!

He accepted the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was baptized March 26, 1989. He enjoyed sharing his love for Christ and telling people to "Love God and Live Right".

He is survived by his loving parents. His two brothers, Rodney and Christopher, who will always cherish his memory. His two sisters in law, Chanta and Yve who will miss him dearly. One nephew, four nieces and two very special friends, Betty and Ross. Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends who will never forget the gift Dexter was to their lives.
