Diane Kay James, 58, died at home on April 12, 2010. She was preceded in death last month by her parents, Betty and Luther James. She is survived by two sisters, Carma Kummins of Milton and Lynn James of Lawrenceville, five nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews.
Diane received a BS in Social Work from Asbury Univ. and her MS in counseling from the Univ. of West Georgia. She had a 25 year career in the mental health field working at private psychiatric hospitals and state mental health facilities in GA, SC, MO and WA state.
She loved sports and was a student athlete at Decatur H.S. Her hobbies were writing lyrics and poetry, collecting and trading coins and the lost art of letter writing.
She was a volunteer at the Atlanta VA Hosp. and the GA Mental Health Institute.

Father Juan Anzora will officiate a memorial service on Saturday, Apr. 17 at 7 PM at A.S.Turner Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA. The family will receive friends at 6 PM.
