Major Donald B. Wiley, U. S. Air Force Reserves (Ret.), died Monday, October 20, 2008. He retired from the U. S. Air Force Reserves after more than 30 years. While on active duty, he was a bombardier during World War II and was shot down over Germany where he was a prisoner of war for more than a year. Also, was called to active duty during the Korean War. Mr. Wiley was an attorney and retired from the Federal Trade Commission after 27 years. He remained a practicing attorney in Lawrenceville and Atlanta until he was 88 years old. Mr. Wiley was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nancy Freeman Wiley. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Ann Wiley of Atlanta; granddaughters, Jennifer Wiley of Houston TX, Aura Wiley of Atlanta; grandsons, Stephen Wiley of Conyers, Adam Wiley of Canton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
