Donald Eugene Miller

August 27, 1933 — January 21, 2009

Donald Eugene Miller, 75, of Roopville died Wednesday Jan. 21, 2009, after a courageous battle with multiple myleoma. A native of Cardington, Ohio he was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict having proudly served his country overseas as a tank mechanic. He met his wife, Rachel Arlene Loftin, while passing thru Atlanta's Ft. MacPherson. After his discharge and their marriage they returned to Ohio. He retired from GM after 30 years of service, and returned to Roopville. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rachel, daughter, Rhonda and James K. Stewart of Loganville, GA; son, Tim E. and Patti Miller of Medina, OH, sisters, Carol Patterson of Millersburg, OH; Bernita Mosher of Westerville, OH; Rita Miller of Killbuck, OH; Marilyn Newcome of Crestline, OH and Lera Newman of Sun City, AZ. Also surviving are the joys of his life, his grandsons, Cullen and Chase Stewart and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday Jan. 24, 2009 at Victory Road Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Brown & Bro. Kevin Geter officiating. Interment will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bobby Loftin, Charles Nixon, Chris Loftin, Ray Gosdin, Wendell Eckridge and Mitch Bennett. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be sent in his memory to Cannon Cancer Ministry, c/o Cannon UMC, 2424 Webb Ginn House Rd., Snellville, GA 30078, or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the church from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday and one hour prior the day of services. A. S. Turner & Sons Decatur, GA
