Donna Carol Ferguson

Donna Carol (Mobley) Ferguson, 65, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, after a long illness.

Donna was born April 6, 1956, in Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Decatur. She graduated from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in 1977 and worked at several hospitals for almost 40 years. She supported her husband’s engineering business for 33 years and spent a few years at home raising their daughter.

Donna is survived by her husband of 44 years, Greg Ferguson; daughter, Nicole Ferguson; mother, Sarah Dorsett Mobley; brother, Stephen Mobley; and brother-in-law, Ken (Marsha) Ferguson. Donna is also survived by a niece and nephew, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Donna was preceded in death by her dad, William “Billy” Mobley, and her grandparents, Max and Vera Dorsett, and Frank and Maude Mobley.

Donna was known for her huge smile, kind personality, and hospitality. She lit up a room. She loved to read, cook, and spend time with her family. She was a strong Christian whose life was a testimony of her faith to all who she met. She was an excellent listener and was sought out for her wise guidance. She was a mighty prayer warrior who prayed with power and witnessed many miracles in her lifetime. Donna was persistent and never gave up. Her strength and fight were contagious. Even though she sometimes sat in the background, her leadership, creativity, and intelligence always showed through. She was a great blessing and treasure, deeply loved by her family, and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 26, 2021. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, immediately following visitation. Both will be held at A. S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, GA, who is handling final arrangements.

There will be no casket or graveside service. In lieu of flower arrangements, the family requests live, potted plants.
