Donna Palmer, of Atlanta, GA, died on Friday, December 15, 2017. Born in Steubenville Ohio, she was a graduate of Steubenville H.S. and Ohio Valley School of Nursing. She moved to Columbus where she was a devoted and compassionate Registered Nurse for over 50 years. In her early years, she loved working in surgery and in the nursery. Later, at Doctors Hospital, she was a beloved employee and patient advocate specializing in Medical and Diabetic nursing. She was a long standing member of the Central Ohio Association of Diabetes Educators. Donna loved living in Atlanta, enjoying her family, and spending precious time with her dog, Heather. She was very proud of her participation in the Nurses Health Study. She believed in its mission and in its important contributions to scientific knowledge and public health advancements. She is preceded in death by daughter, Kim Palmer, as well as Mother and Father Ernest and Ella Elswick. She is survived by daughters Candy (Mark) Steele and Pam (Mark) Schwab, and granddaughter Marlaina Schwab.
