Donna W. Hagood, 87, died March 8, 2016, at Vitas Hospice in Duluth, GA. She was born June 6, 1928, in Hemingway, S.C., the daughter of Robert Lee and Rebecca (Miller) Williams. Donna graduated from Pleasant Hill High School, class of 1945. Following graduation Donna attended business college in Columbia, S.C., and was employed as an administrative assistant for several local businesses before meeting her future husband, Thomas Richard Hagood. Prior to moving to Decatur, GA, Donna and Dick resided in Columbia, SC, Charlotte, NC, Evanston, IL, Orlando, FL and Lake City, FL. She and Dick celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to his death in 1999. Along with her husband, Donna was co-publisher of Columbia Publications, Inc., publishing Southern Antiques newspaper for nearly 40 years. She was a member of Columbia Presbyterian Church of Decatur. Donna's favorite pastime was gardening and she was known for her ability to grow roses and orchids, winning honors at garden shows. She was also an accomplished seamstress, knitter, crocheter, and fisherwoman. Donna is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann Hagood of Gulfport, MS; son, Thomas Hagood, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Decatur; three grandchildren, William Luebke (Alyssa Kirkman) of Raleigh, NC; Richard Luebke of Gulfport, MS; Margaret Hagood of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and one great-granddaughter, Violet Luebke. Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Kemp Williams, of Hemingway, SC. A private family service will be held in Chimney Rock, NC, at a later date with her son presiding. A marker for Donna and Dick may be found in the Nazareth churchyard cemetery at Nazareth Presbyterian Church, Moore, SC. Gifts in Donna's memory may be made to Hagar's House, a shelter for mothers and their children, through Columbia Presbyterian Church, 711 S. Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030. A. S.
