Doris Thomas Pittman of Atlanta passed away peacefully Friday July 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband John Wesley Pittman, Sr. she is survived by her children Wesley Pittman (Elizabeth) of Brattleboro, VT, Mary Ann Gregory (Jim) of Hickory, NC, Tom Pittman (Tina) of Acworth, GA, Susan Torchia (Michael) of Elmhurst, IL. grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was employed in the office of Atlanta Surgeons Hill, Veatch, and Jernigan. She was an active member of the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with the Rev. Susan M. Pinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00PM till 8:00PM and from 10:00AM till 11:00AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The United Methodist Children's Home, 500 S.Columbia Drive, Decatur Georgia 30030, A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur.
