Doris Caroline Pruitt

Doris Patterson Pruitt, age 95, died on Monday, August 11, 2014 of complications from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. She was born on December 10, 1918 in Birmingham, Alabama. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Floyd M. Pruitt Sr. Doris was a 50+ year member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur, member of the Dunstan Sunday School Class, and volunteered in many church projects. Doris and her husband were lifetime members of the Druid Hills Golf Club. She is survived by son, Floyd Pruitt, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jackie; grandson Jonathan (Jennie), great grandson Jase and grandson Joshua (Megan). Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 11:00 a ,m. in the Chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
