Mrs. Dorothy Lillian Hendricks Ford, 2233 McCurdy Road, of Stone Mountain, GA passed away June 5, 2015, after an extended illness. Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Julian Baxter Ford, Jr., her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Frank and Glenna Mayhew Hendricks, of New Smyrna Beach, FL and seven siblings, Frank, Richard, Donald, John, Louise, Ruth and Stella. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Carol Hendricks, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, her brother-in-law and his wife Rev and Mrs. Francis Ford, Keysville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on June, 28, 1928. She grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She graduated from New Smyrna Senior High School with the class of 1946 and moved to Atlanta. She and Julian were married on June 17, 1955. She attended The University of Georgia and retired from Emory University. Dorothy and Julian were extensive world travelers and had been on over 37 cruises during their marriage. They enjoyed their dachshunds and shared a love of nature, bicycling, walking and were faithful contributors to their favorite charities, particularly The Salvation Army, PAWS, The Atlanta Humane Society, Atlanta Union Mission, and their church, Lutheran Church of The Redeemer. Please join her family and friends in a celebration of her life on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 731 Peachtree Street N. E., Atlanta, Georgia.
