Dorothy Mary Bayne

Dorothy Mary Bayne, 92, a longtime Decatur resident, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012. She was born in Laurel, Nebraska to Merrill John Wendel and Edith Myrtle Webb. Dorothy taught school in Nebraska during World War II . She became a Registered Nurse and worked for many years at DeKalb Medical Center. She was an active member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth M. Bayne. Dorothy is survived her three sons and their spouses: David and Joyce Bayne, Steven and Kathleen Bayne, Marlon and Linda Bayne; daughter and son-in-law: Sally and Jack Doornbos; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday August 25 at Decatur First United Methodist Church. With Dr. David S. Naglee officiating. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, on Saturday at the church. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
