Dorothy Nell (Barker) White was born in Clarkston, GA on August 20, 1930 and grew up in Stone Mountain, GA as the eldest of four sisters. Dot accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a very young girl.
Dot graduated from Decatur High School and joined the United States Army in 1949 where she served 5 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Dot married Lewis White in 1956. One son, Dwayne, was born to this union. She loved music and dancing. She was an avid bingo player winning most of the time. Dot was known for her strong positive spirit, outgoing personality, hearty laughter, and willingness to help anyone who crossed her path. She cherished the time she spent with family and friends.
Dot had worked for Southern Bell and retired from DeKalb County in the 90s.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents George and Jeannie Barker, ex-husband Lewis White, sisters Lucille Morris and Carolyn Smith (Robert Smith).
Left with cherished memories are her son Dwayne White (Gina), grandchildren DJ and Dorian White, sister Gussie H. Smith, brother-in-law Rev. Woodson Morris, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.'
