Doug Taylor, 77, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late Betty J. (Hasenkemper) and George A. Taylor of Decatur, GA. Doug graduated from Decatur High School in 1960 and later from Emory University in 1965 with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. He was a brother in the Sigma Nu fraternity. A 1LT in the US Army, Doug was a member of the Fort Sill, Oklahoma, US Army Artillery and Missile School Officer Candidate Class 1-67, and was stationed in Germany. He was professionally and self employed as a real estate appraiser and real estate broker until his retirement. Doug was an extremely loving and generous man and was well loved by his family and many friends. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family and playing golf. He was an amazing husband, brother, "Dad," "Pops," "Uncle Doug" and "Uncle Big Doug." He will be missed by so many. The family will gather at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur to celebrate Doug's life on Saturday, August 10, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and they welcome friends to join them as they share stories and fond memories together. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Betty J. Taylor, and by his brother in law Frederick ("Bud") Hoppe. He is survived by his wife, Judy Clay Taylor, daughter/son in law Kristina and Jeffrey Eno and grandchildren Jack, James ("Jay"), and Kassidy Eno, daughter/son in law Lisa and Michael Mabry and grandson Trevor Jackson, sister/brother in law Carol Diane and Robert Kruse, sister Judy-Lynn Hoppe, and by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
