Douglas Marion Hester

Douglas Marion Hester, 71, of Lithonia, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018. Born in Atlanta, December 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Marion Wren and Bernice Holt Hester. Douglas was a retired electrician and member of IBEW Union Local 613 with 45 years of service. He was also a member of Free and Accepted Masons of Lithonia Lodge 84.

Douglas is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Chewning Hester; son, Brian Hester and his wife, Trenda, of Mobile, AL; grandsons, Brent “Sonny” Hester, of Mobile, AL, and Cole Griffin, of Huntsville, AL; granddaughter, Brittani M. Oller, of Huntsville, AL; and many more loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Hester.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Hillandale Memorial Gardens, Lithonia, with Reverend Nelson Goddard officiating.
