Douglas Stevens Cash

August 29, 1924 — November 28, 2018

Douglas Stevens Cash, 94, of Tucker, GA passed away November 28, 2018. Mr. Cash was born in Atlanta, GA to the late James Marion and Stevie Mae Cash. He was the salt of the earth and loved by his family. He was part of the Greatest Generation. After graduating from Tucker High School, he briefly attended Georgia Tech before honorably serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. Doug was a self employed builder and many considered him a perfectionist. He built his own home paying cash, never having a house payment. He raised six boys in the same home. He loved the game of baseball and raised his sons playing the game that he loved. Doug followed and loved Georgia Tech football his whole life. He recently became a Catholic and was baptized at age 90. He was preceded in death by his sons Lee and David and a grandson Trae Cash. He was the last sibling of his family of six to pass.

Survivors include Beverly, his loving wife of 72 years, sons Steve Cash (Vickie) of Covington, GA, Charles Cash (Denise) of Braselton, GA, Mike Cash (Mary) of Lilburn, GA and Danny Cash of Tucker, GA and nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3773 Chamblee Tucker Road, Atlanta, 30341.
