Dr. Anton Brice

Dr. Anton Brice, a respected internist, beloved father, and grandfather, passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 91. He was born on December 31, 1933, to the late Anton Melville Brice and Lillian Craft Brice. Dr. Brice spent his life proudly serving patients in the Decatur area. He was a kind, caring man who made a lasting impact on the lives of his family, friends, and countless patients.

A graduate of Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Brice served as President of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and completed his medical training, then went on to practice as an internist in Decatur, Georgia. His commitment to his patients and his work as a physician earned him respect within the community.

Dr. Brice also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he brought his medical expertise to those in need during his time of service.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara. Together, they raised two children, Kristen Brice Tavel and Alan Brice. His love for his family was great, and he found joy in seeing his children grow into the individuals they are today.

Dr. Brice will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also as an avid golfer, die hard Georgia Tech fan, and a connoisseur of Coca Cola Classic. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and silly jokes that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dr. Brice is survived by his brother, Lee Allen Brice (Barbara) and family; daughter Kristen Tavel (Sam Brown); son, Alan Brice (Jackie) of Suwanee; grandchildren Christopher Tavel (Laura Colbert), Nathan Tavel (Devin Brown), Graham Tavel (Chelsea Driver), Mitchell Brice and Anna Rose Brice.

Family and friends will gather at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N. Decatur Rd. Decatur, GA 30033, at 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 2773 N. Decatur Rd. Decatur, GA. 30033,on January 26, 2025 at 3:00 PM.
