Dr. Charles O. (Doc) Mccrory

Charles O."Doc" McCrory 72, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. He was born in laurel, MS to Maxine Jenkins and Dr. Otho Elmer McCrory. His growing up years were spent in Hattiesburg, MS. He graduated from Emory University Dental School in 1965. He opened a practice in the Northlake area where he remained until retirement in 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Roderick J. McCrory. He was active in the community through involvement as a charter member of the Northlake Rotary Club, Atlanta Athletic Club, Northern District Dental Society, Hinman Dental Society, Decatur Dental Study Club. A member of the Cathedral of Christ the King until moving to St. Brigid Catholic Church where he was involved in the Knights of Columbus. Always eager to learn, he accomplished gaining a real estate license, HAM radio certification, scuba diving, fly fishing to mention a few. One of his true passions was the game of golf which he never quite mastered but wasn't from lack of effort. He was quick to let you know that his greatest accomplishment in life was his family that he dearly loved. Married 48 years to his high school sweetheart, Ann Tee McCrory they raised and adored: Roddy McCrory(lynn), Amy Brown(Denny}, Suzanne Redmond(Tom), and grandchildren, Collin, Katie, and Hannah McCrory, Caroline and Benjamin Brown, and Mac, Avery, and Griffin Redmond. A brother-in-law John Tee (Renie)and niece Lauren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 17, at 10 o'clock at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Rd.30305 with a reception to follow.
