Dr. John Keith Schellack, Sr.

John K. “Doc” Schellack, MD, FACS of Cumming, GA was born on March 6, 1921 and died peacefully on October 10, 2011. He was a graduate of Copan High School, Oklahoma A&M and Tulane Medical School. Doc was a general surgeon at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta for over 50 years. His other passions included his garden, the Forsyth County Beekeepers Club, hunting, dog training and cooking.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Elizabeth “Billy” Schellack. Survivors include his brother, Lynn Schellack, children Patricia Kay (Chris) Wright, John K. (Lisa) Schellack, Jr., Jo Lynn (John) Taylor and Kerri Kim (Bob) Baldonado, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel at AS Turner on Thursday, October 13th at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doc’s memory to Cumming First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 606, Cumming, GA 30028.
