Dusanka Djuranovic of Decatur died at home on October 30, 2004 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.  She was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzgovina on June 14, 1946 to Andjelka and Nikola Radic.  Mrs. Djuranovic was preceded in death by her husband, Nebojsa Djuranovic.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law,  Darija and Denis Pichanick of Decatur, GA; grandchildren, Liam and Ana Pichanick; sisters, Nada Frauhajm and Vera Vukovic of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mira Stopar of Cologne, Germany; brothers-in-law, Drago Frauhajm and Branko Vukovic of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs. Djuranovic was CEO of a large construction company and active in local politics until cancer diagnosis in 1991 forced her into early retirement.  Since that time, she lived through a 2 years of war in her homeland; relocated and started a new life with her daughter in the United States, and thanks to the extraordinary care of Dr. Anthony Landis and Gwinnett Medical Center she lived an active and productive life.  She learned English and was named Georgia Literacy Ambassador; she was an active member of the Atlanta Knitting Guild and the Creative Hands Group of her Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  She saw her only daughter get married, graduate from college and witnessed the birth of two grandchildren.
