Earl Kenneth Cain, age 73, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 following a brief battle with colon cancer. He was born in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Cain was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years, Patricia Ann Zipperer Cain. He was also preceded in death by his parents Hoyt and Eula Cain and brother, Dr. Emory T. Cain. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted daughter Terri Cain of Jonesboro, daughter and son-in-law Pam and Ken Langley of Dunwoody, grandson Johnathan Langley, and son Earl Kenneth "Ken" Cain, Jr. of Stone Mountain. He is also survived by cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of devoted, loving friends. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Florida and Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He also served in the Marine Reserves. Mr. Cain was retired from General Foods where he spent more than 31 years selling Maxwell House Coffee. He remained an active brother of Kappa Alpha Order and a Seminole booster. Mr. Cain was a member of Decatur First United Methodist Church. His loves included golfing, volunteering at golf tournaments, and baseball. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan where he was thrilled to throw out a "first pitch". His grandson was the light of his life, as he was Johnathan's biggest fan, attending all sporting and school activities. The family will receive friends at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033, 404-292-1551, on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Frank Brock officiating. Interment will take place at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Decatur First United Methodist, 300 E.
