Edgar Hall

June 1, 1951 — February 4, 2025

Edgar "Robert" Hall, Jr. was born June 1, 1951, in Atlanta, GA to Edgar Robert Hall Sr. (later known as Jones) and the late Hazel McFarlin, formerly Hall (né Johnson). Robert was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and graduated from David T. Howard High School.

Known for his hard work, after graduation, Robert first went to work at the Ford assembly plant at Lakewood/Hapeville, then later he obtained his dream job at the General Motors' Doraville assembly plant in the paint department. In 1978, Robert left General Motors to pursue entrepreneurship by initiating Condor Automotive Services, Inc., involving towing and automotive repair. Subsequently, he earned licenses from the Georgia Real Estate Commission, first as realtor, then as broker, dba Ephronn Real Estate Consultants.

Robert married his third wife, Deanna I. Morrow, on 22 November 1980 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. No children were born to this union. Robert had a daughter from a previous marriage.

Robert had a formidable nature that left an indelible mark on all he encountered. His voice was a gregarious baritone boom of energy, coupled with his infectious laugh, demanding center-stage attention every time he spoke. He never seemed to meet a stranger and was always more than willing to lend a helping hand. Robert was a student of life who was willing to share all he learned with whomever would listen or needed the knowledge. He always seemed to be giving advice, solicited or not, based on his unique purview of the world, both physical and spiritual. Though Robert never attended college, he often referred to himself as a "Morehouse Man" based on the saying, "You can tell a Morehouse man because you can't tell him much." This was certainly applicable to his very resolute nature.

His hobbies included serving up succulent ribs as a grill master, deep sea fishing, rehabbing old cars, building and collecting model cars and planes. Circa 1984, he earned FAA certification as a private pilot. On April 16, 2002, he obtained US patent number 6,371,482 B1 (Method and apparatus for generating numbers to play in a lottery based on astronomical events). This concept generates "hot sheets" for lottery numbers, based upon previously drawn numbers and astronomical data.

After a valiant, 11-year-long fight, Robert succumbed to heart failure on February 4, 2025 at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Robert was preceeded in death by his parents, and siblings Barbara Hall and Kimberly Johnson. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna Morrow Hall; daughter, Lawanda M. Hall; siblings; Sandra Hall, Ray Anthony Hall, Kenney Parham, Michael Frazier, Michelle Frazier, Edgar Robert Jones, Jr., Raychelle Jones, Timothy Jones, Adrian Jones, and Shannon Jones-Hines (Clifsenior); and a host of other relatives.
