Edith Windish Mellor

Edith Mellor, 96, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away August 27, 2007, of heart failure. She joins her late husband of 68 years, Dr. William C. Mellor, in their new life together. Edith loved her husband, her family, her life, and her relationship with her savior. Born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1910, she trained as a missionary and graduated from Nyack College & Alliance Theological Seminary in New York. She was an avid reader and collector: Her Ferragamo shoe collection was her absolute favorite. She was a long-time member of Briarlake Baptist Church. Edith is survived by a son, James Mellor, and his wife, Jane Roszmann Mellor, of Roswell; a grandson, James Spencer Mellor, of Roswell; and a granddaughter, Laura Windish Mellor, of New York City. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 30th at 11 a.m. in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Pastor Gene Winfrey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Metro Atlanta YMCA Endowment Fund, 100 Edgewood Avenue NE, Suite 1100, Atlanta, GA  30303. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
