Edna Cleghorn Pittman, 91, a long time resident of Decatur, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008. She was born in Villa Rica, Georgia on July 18, 1916, to the late Jessie Teal Cleghorn and Emory Russell Cleghorn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lovette Pittman, her sister, Inez Cleghorn Baxter, her brother, Russell O. Cleghorn and her sister, Ruby Cleghorn Hamrick. She was a charter member of the Westchester Garden Club and served as secretary and was a member of the Decatur First Baptist Church, the Decatur Woman's Club, and the Westchester Bridge Club. She enjoyed working on the family history and also her photograph books. She especially enjoyed visits by her grandchildren, Lucas, Gigi Maxine, Moe and Levi. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Pittman Moss of Decatur; her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Pat Pittman of Griffin; her grandsons, Jason Moss of Atlanta and wife, Anna Blitz; Joe C. Pittman, Jr. and wife Marni of Decatur, Henry Pittman of Griffin; granddaughter, Jessica Pittman of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Lucas Moss and Gigi Maxine Moss of Atlanta, Moe Pittman and Levi Pittman of Decatur; sister, Sue Cleghorn Taylor of Villa Rica; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregiver of eight years, Bernice Robinson. For those who prefer, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 1957 Lakeside Pkwy., Suite 500, Tucker, GA 30084. Services will be held Friday, June 27th at 2:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons. Rev. Julie Russell-Pennington will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
