Edna Louise Lathom

Edna "Peggy" L. Lathom, 81, of Decatur died Sunday, September 19, 2010. Born
December 21, 1928 in Darlington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Edna
Tipton Ringler. She graduated from business school and worked at the local News-
Tribune, before becoming a church Kindergarten teacher. Peggy was an active member
of Clairmont Presbyterian Church, where she formerly taught Sunday School and
Vacation Bible School. She was an avid reader and was also coordinator of the church
library. She was married to James Lathom for 46 years before his passing in 1998. In
addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters, Reda
Dillan and Jeanne McGath. Peggy was a cherished mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law and she will always remain in our hearts. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Patrick Oeser and grandson, Jim Oeser, all of Decatur; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Max Bieberbach of Medford, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8p.m. and Friday from 11a.m.-12p.m. at A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur. The funeral service will be held at 12p.m. Friday at A.S. Turner Chapel, with burial at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Clairmont Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
