Edward Charles Quade, age 80, of Atlanta died Monday, April 14, 2008. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Quade Gregory and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Faye B. Quade; his daughter, Carole Enright and husband, Jim of Lawrenceville, GA; son-in-law, Peter Gregory of Chattanooga, TN. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Sarah, Charlie and Emily; his sister, Shirley Richardson of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Robert Quade of Norwood, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Covington, Kentucky, and graduated from Covington High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was honorably discharged and attended the University of Cincinnati and received a degree in mechanical engineering. He moved to Atlanta in 1953 and worked for Robert & Co. Mr. Quade then worked for the Federal Government's General Services Administration before retiring with 28 years of service. He was a longtime member of Decatur First United Methodist Church and the Knox-Peabody Sunday school class. He enjoyed the Braves, gardening and photography. A memorial service will be held 2:30 pm, Thursday, April 17th at Decatur First United Methodist Church, Bishop Bevel Jones and Dr. David Naglee officiating. Burial will be private. Those desiring may send donations to Decatur First United Methodist Church, 300 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030 or the Methodist Children's Home, 500 S. Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30030. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
