Edward Earle Dickinson

April 18, 1916 — January 28, 2010

Edward Dickinson, 93, died at his home in Dunwoody on January 28, 2010.  He was born in Decatur, Alabama, and lived in Birmingham, Alabama; Greenville, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Atlanta, Georgia.  He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U. S. Army for three years.  He retired after forty-four years with E. I. Dupont de Nemours and Company.  He was a past member of Northeast Baptist Church and Briarlake Baptist Church and is a current member of Dunwoody Baptist Church.  Mr. Dickinson is preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Lanford Dickinson.  He is survived by his wife, Jane Jordan Dickinson; daughters, Dianne Carson and Deborah (Steve) Hicks; grandsons, Scott (Keyla), Christopher and Matthew Carson and Shannon and Travis Leach; great grandsons, Drew and Reed Carson; stepson, Dan (Susan) Thompson; grandchildren, Chatfield and Jordan Thompson; brother, Bill (Leslie) Dickinson; and sister, Lillian Cochran.  His funeral service will held Monday, February 1, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home followed by interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association .  The family will receive friends Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
