Edward John Patterson

April 8, 1939 — June 13, 2017

Edward John Patterson, 78, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday June 13, 2017 at his residence . A native of Nebraska, he proudly served with the United States Army and worked as an electrical engineer while raising a cherished family of four. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Jean Patterson; children, Eddie, Deanna, David, Jennifer and a sister, Betty Tarsitano. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Wehr and a brother, Dick Patterson. In lieu of flowers please send a donation in his memory to: Birthright P.O.Box 98361. Atlanta, GA 30359 770-451-2273). Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Monsignor Al Jowdy officiating. Interment will follow at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
