Edwina "Eddie" Ann Payne Helms

Edwina "Eddie" Ann Payne Helms, 85, of Decatur, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Born June 4, 1931, in Birmingham, AL, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Edna Earl Smith Payne.

Eddie is survived by her son, Jim Helms, III, and his wife, Barbara; three granddaughters, Sandy Spires and her husband, Drew, Jennifer Green and her husband, Steve, and Tiffany Faith and her husband, Brian; grandson, Nate Helms; great grandchildren, Savannah, Caroline, and James Spires, Ava Green, and Parker and Cooper Faith.

In addition to her parents, Eddie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Edward Helms, Jr., and sons, Randy and Keith Helms.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of Edwina's life at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, Decatur, GA.
