Effie Kaloyannides

Effie Pappas Kaloyannides, age 86, died peacefully at her home in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida surrounded by her family on December 13, 2024. She was born November 7th, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee to George (Georghios) and Vasiliki Pappas (Papadimitriou). Preceded in death by; one sister Antoinette (Toni) Boyd and one brother, Emmanuel G. Pappas.

Effie graduated from Henry Grady High School in Atlanta Georgia Class of 1956. Effie worked at the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, the US Federal Government, McCabe Accounting Firm and Sun Trust bank. She loved the beach and retired there after her 35-year career. Effie loved her family, was a friend to all and had a special zeal for life. She was an avid reader who often enjoyed sitting on her front porch sipping Dr. Pepper in the company of her family, friends, and dogs.

Effie is survived by one daughter, Thalia Kaloyannides Bradley, one son, Emmanuel G. Kaloyannides; Three granddaughters, Olivia Kaloyannides, Ashley Kaloyannides and Ava Grace Bradley; One daughter-in-law, Kimberly Kaloyannides; Four nieces, Viki Boyd, Gena Lewis (John Lewis), Annastasia Grillo (Glenn Grillo) and Evelyn Rose Aubin (Patrick Aubin); Three grandnieces; Gianna Grillo, Madison Lewis, Taylor Lewis and four grandnephews; Noah Grillo, Karston, Drew & Gage Aubin; many cousins and a host of other relatives.

Viewing Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st, 2025; The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, 2500 Clairmont Road NE, Atlanta GA 30329. Effie loved Purple so if possible we ask that you wear a shade or touch of purple for her. The Very Rev. Fr. Paul A. Kaplanis and Rev. Fr. Christos P. Mars officiating.
