Eleanor Sue Tyler

February 2, 1938 — July 5, 2016

Eleanor "Sue" McLeod Tyler, 78, of Stone Mountain, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on July 5, 2016. Born February 2, 1938, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Barney Dumha and Geralda Adair McLeod. Sue graduated from Clarkston High School where she played girls basketball, the trumpet, and enjoyed square dancing. She was a seamstress and became well known for her pottery and cake art instructing. Sue also enjoyed traveling and had a great love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jesse Tyler; two daughters, Judy Tyler and Tia Marie Tyler; four grandchild, Alexandria Huggins, Douglas Thomas, II, Marki Anderson, and Suzzane Tipton; three great grandchildren, Lauren, Delilah, and Mackenzie; brothers, John and Wayne McLeod; sister, Virginia McLeod Poteete; and many more loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Diane Tyler; and sisters, Joyce, Evelyn, and Jane.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, July 15, at A.S. Turner & Sons. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 16, in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with interment to follow at Melwood Cemetery.
