Elinor Keown Mcafee

Mrs. Elinor Keown McAfee, 87, of Decatur, GA died Friday, June 24, 2005.  She was the wife of Alfred Murray McAfee deceased in 1968.  She is survived by her son, Murray McAfee and daughter, Gayle M. Hughes and her husband, James H. Hughes ; grandchildren, Laura H. and Rev. Allan Rudie, Amanda H. and Larry Price, David and Gaye Brewster Hughes; great grandchildren, David and Rebekah Rudie, Laura, Hannah and Sarah Price, Anna, Bethany, Abigail and Nathan Hughes; brother and wife, Joseph Wendell and Ruby Keown, Mildred Keown, wife of brother, Larry Keown deceased; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was born in Rome GA, September 25, 1917 to her parents, Gladys Hackett and Homer Joseph Keown.  She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Rome, GA and Barron DeKalb Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.  She retired from Veterans Administration Hospital, where she was responsible for Volunteer Services. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 27th at East Armuchee Baptist Church, Villinow, GA with Rev. Allan Rudie, David Hughes and David Rudie officiating. She will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment in church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Everyone invited.  A. S. Turner & Sons.
