Elizabeth Bagby Fincher

Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Bagby Fincher, 85, of Atlanta died Friday, May 16, 2008. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Jim "Sarge" Bagby and Mabel Smith Bagby, Mrs. Fincher moved to Atlanta as a child and graduated from Commercial High School. She married Hoyt Fincher in 1942, who later became Senior Vice President of Operations for Delta Airlines. The last 30 years of her life, Mrs. Fincher was an active member of the Vinings community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Fincher, Jr. and is survived by her daughters, Diane Sykes and her husband, Glen, of Hernando, FL, and Cathy Fincher of Decatur; son, Hoyt Fincher and his wife, Sarah, of Marietta; grandchildren, Alan Quinton and his wife, Pilar, of San Francisco, CA, Amy Quinton Haynes and her husband, Curtis, of Concord, NH, Pate Fincher of Plano, TX, Elizabeth Fincher and Reid Fincher both of Marietta; great granddaughter, Elsa Quinton of San Francisco, CA. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 21st, at 4:00 pm at Crest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Donovan officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Betty Fincher may be made to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Dr, Atlanta GA 30319. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
