Betty Donnelly Bell, beloved wife of Ray F. Bell, died December 15, 2017 at the age of 92.
She was born and raised in Kingstree, SC. She was a graduate of Mary Harden Baylor College, now known as The University of MHB. She taught school until she had a family and chose to be a stay at home Mom.
She is survived by Ray F. Bell, husband of 70 years. Their two children are Bill Bell and wife Janet, Melody Bell Gwinn and husband Pastor Mike Gwinn. Their 3 grandchildren are Billy Bell and wife Megan, Scott Gwinn and wife Kerry, Zachary Gwinn and wife Corrie. Their 8 great grandchildren are William and Isla Bell, Coleman, Camden and Clay Gwinn, Lowen, Liesl and Wilder Gwinn.
Their family was a charter member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church (from 1955). Betty was active in many areas at the church, especially Sunday School and the choir.
Ray and Betty traveled to many places through the years by motor home, private planes and commercial airlines.
She didn’t feel that she did great things, but was a “crack filler” for the Lord. She was a happy person and felt very blessed.
Those desiring may send memorial contributions in her memory to Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1955 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20TH from 2:00 – 3:00pm with a chapel service at 3:00pm with Rev. Larry Burgess and Rev. Jim Haskell officiating.
Private interment services will be held at Georgia National Cemetery.
Feel free to leave the family your condolences via the guestbook provided.
