Elizabeth Chamblee Eden, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 11, 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Eden. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, C. Glenn & Lana M. Eden; and her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara L. & Cliff L. King; granddaughter, Blake Eden Emerton & Cliff Emerton; and great granddaughter, Ashley Emerton; and grandson, Charles T. Eden. Also surviving is her sister, Louise Chamblee Guy; and nephew, John T. Guy, Jr.; great niece, Jennifer Hawkins & Billy Hawkins; and great nephew, John T. Guy, III. Also, nieces, Patricia Hammonds and family, Deanna Hammonds Quigley and family, Cherita Hammonds Jones and family, and many more beloved cousins. Elizabeth Eden was the 12th baby born at Emory Hospital. She grew up in Decatur and Tucker, Georgia. While visiting her mother at Emory Hospital during her teens she made the decision that nursing was the career for her. She attended Crawford W. Long School of Nursing in Atlanta, GA. While she was in nursing school, she met her future husband, a sailor, Charles D. Eden. They married in January of 1945. After completing the service they settled in Decatur, Georgia. Elizabeth was a nurse at Emory Hospital and many other hospitals in the metropolitan Atlanta area. She cared for many family members and friends throughout her nursing career. Her greatest love was for the Lord. She and her husband were founding members of Scott Boulevard Baptist Church. She had many dear friends and precious memories in that church. Her next love was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always so proud of her family. Elizabeth was loved by all who knew her, especially the family that held her so dear. She will be missed by all. She is with the Lord and her husband in eternity. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 14th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Dr. Michael Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
