Elizabeth Jane Mattox

Funeral services will be held for Jane Magged Mattox on September 24, 2010 at 11:00am at St Luke�s Episcopal Church, 435 Peachtree Street, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30308. Born in Macon, Georgia on December 3, 1948, Jane was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Mattox. She graduated from the National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. and attended McGill University in Montreal. She moved her young family to Atlanta in the 1960�s where she worked in the law departments of the Resolution Trust Corporation, AMVESCO, and Alston & Bird. St Luke�s Episcopal Church was at the heart of her family�s life. At various times, Jane coordinated Children�s Church School Classes, facilitated DOC classes, served on and chaired the Intercessor�s Guild, and was a long-time member and President of the Daughters of the King. Most recently, she completed a four-year course of study in Education for Ministry, for which she received a Diploma from the University of the South in May 2010. Jane Mattox died at home on September 7, 2010 of a heart attack. She is survived by her son, Stephen Magged; daughter, Lisa Magged of Berkeley California); sister, Panke Miller (spouse Peter) and two nephews, Gavin Bradley (spouse, Catherine); Alex Bradley (spouse Tita McKnight), all of Atlanta. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall at St Luke�s Church at 10:00am on September 24, preceding the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daughters of the King at St. Luke�s, Atlanta.
