Elizabeth Joan Warden

July 30, 1930 — April 17, 2013

Known by her friends as Betty, Elizabeth R. Warden was born July 30, 1930 and passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Patteson Warden. She leaves her daughter, Cindy Bowden, her husband Tom Bowden and their daughter, Christina Warden Bowden. She also leaves her son, Karl Duval Warden, his wife Marsha Warden and their sons, Karl Brennan Warden and Zachary Smith Warden. Betty attended Northwestern University and Concord College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. She obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of West Virginia. She was a community activist, doing volunteer work to help children whether they be special needs children or children who needed a helping hand getting a good education. She will be remembered for her love of gardening and travel. Betty lived in a number of places in the US and around the world, including Guatemala, Papua New Guinea, England and Russia. In lieu of flowers her family asks that people make donations to: Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter?41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550?Atlanta, Georgia 30346. Her memorial service will be held at Northlake Garden Assisted Living Center in Tucker, GA, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
