Elizabeth Mason Harvey

Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Mason (Bette) Harvey of Decatur, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was born October 1, 1920 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Percival and Isabelle Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary H. Harvey, Sr. and brother, Frederick Mason. She is survived by sons, Gary H. Harvey, Jr. (Peggy) and David M. Harvey (Sherryl); sister, Catherine Youngdahl of Summit, New Jersey; grandchildren, Gary H. Harvey, III, Chris Harvey (Cathy), Julie Adams (Michael), Patrick Harvey, Michael Harvey (Brooke), Beth Turner (Chris); great-grandchildren, Brooke Harvey, Haley Adams, Zachary Adams, Benjamin Adams, Hannah Harvey, Lucas Adams, Kyle Harvey, Kate Harvey, Jude Harvey, Will Harvey, Matthew Harvey and Abby Turner; and several nieces and nephews. She is a1so survived by her devoted and much loved care-giver, Mrs. Elizabeth Obeng. Elizabeth is an angel who took care of Bette throughout her long illness. Bette was very proud of her long association with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston where she served for many years as a volunteer in the gift shop. She also played in a bridge group for over fifty years with several of her dearest friends. She moved into Clairmont Place in 1995 and leaves many friends to mourn her there. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2005. at 12:00 noon at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery in Atlanta. Donations may be made in her memory to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00- 8:30 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home.
