Our dear Mother went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2011. She was born Elizabeth Kimball Prescott on April 9, 1921, in Goodyear, Arizona, where she lived the first eight years of her life. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Atlanta and attended Oglethorpe University where she received a degree in Sports Administration. At the age of 51 she received a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. She served with distinction in the U. S. Marine Women's Auxiliary during World War II. She married Dan E. McDonald in 1948, who went to be with Lord in 1990. They are now reunited in glory. Vocationally, Elizabeth was a dedicated Social Worker and served Fulton County, the State of Georgia and the Federal Government in her various capacities. She retired in 1982 after twenty-two years of service. She served in her church, Clairmont Presbyterian, as Sunday school teacher and was admired by all she taught. Her hobbies were ceramics and genealogy. She leaves a wealth of information about our family for the benefit of future generations. She was also predeceased by her mother, Isabel C. Prescott, her father, Harold M. Prescott, and her brother, Harold M. Prescott, Jr. She is survived by her three children, David McDonald of Cumming, John McDonald of Lawrenceville and Ellen Wheelock of Decatur, as well as three grandchildren, Michele McAllister, Sandra Smallman of Statesboro and Jason McDonald of Columbus, Ohio, as well as five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert L. Prescott, of Louisville, and beloved nephews, nieces and cousins. There will be a graveside service at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta at 11 AM, Saturday, December 31, where she will be interred next to her beloved husband, Dan. The family will receive friends 6-8 Friday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
