Elizabeth R. (Twinkie) Stevenson of Atlanta died January 8, 2005. She was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and moved to Atlanta in 1955. She attended North Fulton High School and was a graduate of Oglethorpe University. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in DeKalb County until devoting her full time to parenting her two children. Twinkie was a former President of the Decatur Cotillion Club and a sustaining member of the Junior League of DeKalb. She was also a long-time member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and an active member of their Altar Guild. She is survived by husband of 44 years, G. Scott Stevenson of Decatur, Georgia; daughter, Cynthia Elizabeth Holden of San Ramon, CA; son, Todd Stevenson and daughter-in-law Shannon Stevenson of Denver, Co; brother, Richard E. Rabe and wife Ginny Rabe of Rome, New York; other family members; and several nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to the American Cancer Society, Hospice Atlanta or the Altar Guild at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. The family will have visitation at A. S. Turner & Sons Monday, January 10, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur.
