Elizabeth Stroud Giordano passed away peacefully on April 20, 2015 in Atlanta, GA. She was born in Haverford, PA on September 5, 1928 to the late Marie (Zugehoer) Stroud and David H. Stroud Jr. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Giordano) Sullivan of Atlanta and Gay Giordano of New York City, sons-in-law James H. Sullivan Jr. and Johannes Weinkirn, granddaughter Audrey E. Sullivan, sisters Catherine (Stroud) DelDuca and Barbara (Stroud) Doyle, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband. H. Peter Giordano and son Mark Peter, sister Marie Stroud and half-siblings David and Virginia Stroud.Elizabeth graduated from Chestnut Hill College in Chestnut Hill, PA. She moved with her husband and children to New York City and then to Nassau, Bahamas before her career as a stockbroker began, first with Thomson McKinnon Securities in New York City and then with her own financial consulting business. She and her husband moved to Catskill, NY in 1992, where they lived for 19 years before moving to Atlanta in 2011 to be near family. Services will be held in Atlanta on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:00am at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 2855 Briarcliff Road, NE, Atlanta, GA. A graveside burial in Philadelphia will take place on April 27, 2015. In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to make a memorial gift in her honor, the family asks that they be made to either The Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Drive, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota 57770 (www.redcloudschool.org) or Visiting Nurse Service Health System/Hospice Atlanta Center, 1244 Park Vista Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30319 (www.vnhs.org).
