Elizabeth "Bette" Walton passed away peacefully at her home in Atlanta on November 7th, 2024 after a brief illness. Bette was born on January 21st, 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Clarence "Andy" and Elizabeth Antenbring. She attended the University of Manitoba and proceeded to the Nursing School of the Winnipeg General Hospital, receiving her Registered Nurse designation in 1957. She married her high school sweetheart Ken Walton in 1958. The two moved from Winnipeg to Baltimore, Maryland; then to Lexington, Kentucky; and eventually Atlanta where they settled in 1969. She and Ken traveled extensively, and she enjoyed staying in touch with the many friends that she made from all around the world. Bette lived a very busy life, spending time both in Atlanta and at their house at Lake Burton with her children and grandchildren. She volunteered with many organizations including working at the Children's Hospital gift shop for over 30 years. She served as President of the Emory University Women's Club, President of the Canadian Women's Club of Atlanta and sat on the Board of Visitors of Emory University. She also greatly enjoyed, the help, friendship, and support of so many in the Victoria Estates neighborhood where she lived for over 50 years. Bette was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years in 2005. She is survived by her four sons and their spouses, Keith, Gary and Nancy, Glen and Elizabeth, and Scott and Meg. Ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Maggie, Benjamin, Andrew, Miller, Elizabeth, Claire, Peter, Annie, and Lucy. And a brother Bob Antenbring of Winnipeg, Canada.
