Elizabeth Warden Marshall was born August 17, 1916 to Arthur Hills Warden and Ida Sutphen Preston Warden of Bristol, Virginia. Mrs. Marshall died March 25, 2010 at Hospice Atlanta. Graduating from Agnes Scott College in 1938 with a major in English and minor in History and a commitment to serve, Mrs. Marshall began what would be more than sixty years of service in helping others reach their full potential. She would demonstrate her greatest commitment to assisting others in the field of social work with the completion of the Masters in Social Work at Boston University in 1948. Near the end of her career, she may be best remembered as the Decatur Unit Director for Child Service and Family Counseling Center, now known as Families First. Always active in the community, she volunteered for the Atlanta Red Cross, Decatur Red Cross, and the DeKalb Humane Society where she served a term as President. Prior to her extended illness, Mrs. Marshall served faithfully in many areas of church life with Decatur Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Marshall's husband, Motte C. Marshall preceded her in death March 30 1963. Cherishing her memory is her loving God daughter, Jean Baker and a host of friends who will miss her smile and laughter.
