Dr. Elliott C Moon, age 73, passed away on February 22, 2014. He was a graduate of Emory Medical School, and was a third generation Emory doctor. His father and grandfather practiced medicine in Atlanta. His grandfather was known as the Horse and Buggy doctor of Atlanta and his death was announced on the front page of the Atlanta Journal and Constitution in 1941. Elliott served in the U.S. Air Force, including one year in Viet Nam where he received the Bronze star medal for meritorious service. Following his military service, he practiced OB-GYN in Dekalb County for 32 years. He served as Chief of the OB-GYN dept as well as the Chief of Staff at Dekalb Medical Center. He served as President of the Dekalb Medical Society, President of the Southeastern Medical Society and was a member of the Sims-Bass Medical Society, Medical Association of Georgia and American Medical Association.Elliott is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn; their 3 children, Rusty, Allison Madsen, and Greg; and 5 grandchildren, Nathan, Lindsey, Kristen, Michael and Jacob.
