Elsie Christine Meyer

Elsie Christine Meyer passed away on Sunday, April 23rd, a day after her 97th birthday. She was born in Watertown, New York in 1926. She married Kenneth Meyer and recently celebrated 76 years of marriage. She had a long career in nursing and retired after 36 years of service from a doctor's practice in Torrington, CT where they resided before retiring.

Elsie enjoyed traveling and socializing ( including group cha cha dance lessons), and split her time in later years between Asheville NC and Fort Myers, FL, volunteering at the hospitals there. She and her husband were some of the original residents of Park Springs, a Senior Living Community in Stone Mountain, Georgia. where they enjoyed all the amenities and activities offered and volunteered in the community store. They resided there for 18 years.

Elsie is survived by her husband, her two daughters, Melanie Meyer-Delin ( husband Peter) of Johns Creek , GA and Carolyn Dranginis ( husband Frank) of Madison, CT. She was the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 4 @ 3 PM at the Community Rooms at Park Springs. Interment at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA for the family will be on Friday,
