Elva Epps Eddleman, age 90, passed away on September 15, 2009. She was a native of Kingstree, South Carolina and the daughter of the late Latimer Peele Epps and Ruth Mills Epps. Mrs. Eddleman was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Eddleman, Jr.
Mrs. Eddleman received her B. S. degree in Home Economics from Winthrop University and her Masters in Education from The University of Georgia. She taught Home Economics in Kingstree, SC, third grade at Ashford Park Elementary School in DeKalb County, and was a High School Guidance Counselor at Henderson High School until her retirement. She was a founding member of Northwoods United Methodist Church in Doraville, GA, a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, GA, a member of the Dekalb County Retired Teacher’s Association, and a member of the Georgia Retired Teacher’s Association. She was devoted to her family, spending countless hours baking cookies and organizing activities for the grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Clay Eddleman of Hendersonville, GA; son, Carroll Eddleman of Hoschton, GA; grandchildren Dr. Beau Eddleman of Raleigh, NC,
Dr. Rachel Eddleman of Cornelia, GA, and Mary Kay Eddleman of Waynesville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be at the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elberton, GA. Arrangements by A. S. Turner & Sons
