Elzie Mason “Doc” Strange, 94, of Decatur, GA died April 3, 2010. A native of Atlanta, Elzie was born March 6, 1916 to Charlie Edwin and Josie Mae Hester Strange. He was a 1934 graduate of Boys High School and a 44 year employee of AT&T until his retirement in 1978. Elzie was a long-time member of Peachtree Christian Church, a loving husband, and a nurturing father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Milton H. Strange, and his wife of 60 years, Becky Fincher Strange. He is survived by his sons, Nolan M. Strange and Milton Strange and his wife, Janie; and grandson, Kevin T. Strange and his wife Mary H. Strange. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 9, 2010 at the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, GA. A reception will be held immediately after the service at the funeral home. The burial will take place after the reception at Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday, April 8 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
