STOWERS, Jerry
Mr. Ernest Marine (Jerry) Stowers, of Tucker, GA passed away on Friday, August 20, 2004, at the age of 79. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines during WWII in the battles of Guam and Iwo Jima. After the service he worked as a printer with Darby Printing in Atlanta, then as a missionary with Africa Evangelical Fellowship/SIM, in South Africa from 1969-1998. He was a member of Lilburn Alliance Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys Rustin Stowers; son, Greg Stowers and wife, Sue of Paris, France; daughters, Marilyn Prescott and husband, Mark of Tianjin, China and Deborah Kerr of Tucker, GA; brother, Bill Stowers of Smyrna, GA; sister, Bette Bowden and husband, Tom of Santa Rosa, CA; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. The service will be on Wednesday, August 25th at 11:00 am in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. Pastor Walter Sandell will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker,GA. The family respectfully requests that contributions in his memory be made to the Sannois (France) Church Building Fund, the ministry of son Greg Stowers, c/o Greater Europe Mission, 18950 Base Camp Road, Monument, CO 80123. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons.
